Entry requirements

The Cambridge CELTA is an initial course for applicants with little or no experience of teaching English to speakers

of other languages.

Applicants will be selected for the course only if they meet the following entry requirements.

Applicants must:

 

  • be at least 18 years old, although it is preferable for candidates to be 20 and above

  • to be knowledgeable in English language and its grammar.  Minimum requirements for non-native speakers is higher C1 on the Common European Framework e.g. Cambridge CAE grade A’

  • have the potential to complete written assignments to a high level

 

Candidates should normally have, as a minimum entry requirement, a standard of education equivalent to

that required for entry into higher education.

Due to the integration of theory and practice throughout the course, no exemptions or recognition of prior learning can be accepted.

Candidates should be aware that completion of a course does not guarantee that they will be

successful.

Late applications

 

We will accept late applications if there are still places available on the course.

Please note that wherever possible, correspondence with prospective course candidates is carried out by email.  However, if for some reason you have not heard from us within 24 hours of applying, then please do not hesitate to phone us on +420 387 204 662

 

Cancellations

 

In the case of cancellation four weeks or more before the course starting date, 30% of the total fee will be retained. With less than four weeks’ notice, 50% of our total fee will be retained. If cancellation occurs in the final ten days before the starting date, the total fee will be retained.

 

However, in certain exceptional circumstances, including medical reasons, we will consider transferring the fees to a later course.

 

In the event of the course being cancelled, then all monies will be returned.
